MONK Avel (Vasily Vasilyev)
(1757-1841)
Avel - a monk-prophet, was born in the village Akulova, Tula region, Alexinsky County. His parents were serfs, DL Naryshkin. At the twenty-year-old Avel started to wander and go to Russia for nine years, is based on its length and breadth. For his predictions of days and hours of the death of Catherine II and Paul I, the French invasion and the burning of Moscow repeatedly found himself in prison, and only held in detention for nearly 20 years. By order of Emperor Nicholas I, Avel was imprisoned in the Holy Monastery Efimevsky, where he died in 1841.

The predictions of Avel:
